The neverending inbox. Incoming text messages. Apple Watch tapping at us. Meeting after meeting after meeting. The neverending cooking, cleaning, laundry, kids, parents, friends, pets, gifts, bills, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter.
But there are some things we can only see when we slow down. The biggest of which is each other.
For many of us, taking time to connect and just talk with colleagues feels impossible with all the projects yet to be done, clients and funders to see, reports to finish, and families to tend to.
But recent studies illustrate the surprising benefits of taking the time to connect with your colleagues. And much data has demonstrated that workplace socialization fosters more engaged and committed employees.
